Some Quick Christmas Decorations

Gotta love Christmas – family, gifts, snow – it has it all! But decorating sometimes get expensive or difficult if you let it, so I’ve got some quick Christmas decoration ideas for you.

Category 1: Candy Canes

Idea 1 – Hot glue candy canes to everything and everything you want to (only inanimate objects, not like a person or anything). This idea is great because hot glue comes off pretty easily (do a test gluing to make sure it will come off later just in case) if it’s on a wall, cabinet, window frame, etc. I’ve done this, and the candy canes haven’t come off yet. (update: They stayed up, and when I took them off, they didn’t tear the paint off the wall)

You could even hot glue some candy canes to a ribbon like they’re hanging off it. Get creative with it!

Idea 2 – Tie a candy cane to a string and hang them from the ceiling, or cabinet handles (just make sure it won’t annoy you every time you open that handle)

Category 2: Tinsel

Idea 1 – Put up the tinsel at the highest point (especially if you have cats) with tacks.

Category 3: Tree Garland (with branches)

Idea 1 – You know those tree garlands that look like tree branches with lots of pine needles? For really long ones that aren’t long enough to pin over your door frame you can cut them and pose them around frames for a pretty decoration.

Idea 2 – Another idea for the cut up tree garland is to make snowflakes on the wall out of them. How you do this is you cut them a few inches, put a pin in the middle of the branch to hold it up, and then twist one side up and one side down into the middle of the pin. Voila! Snowflake!

Idea 3 – And if you want to do both of those things with the same tree garland, just cut the branches a little shorter for the snowflakes, and use the rest for the wall.

Hopefully, these ideas helped you out! If I have any more, I’ll be sure to update this post!

If you have a general idea for me to post about (like a specific theme for decorations and such), just send me the idea in the Suggest An Idea form and I might post about it! Thank you!

Have a happy holiday!
