What We Like to Read

Before hitting “send” on that email, please make sure your book matches our reading tastes. A few of our favorite vibes include:

– Fiction with a twist: dark academia, meta-fiction, satirical takes on showbiz or society, dreamlike surrealism, and absurdist or philosophical explorations.
– Psychological & Horror: thrillers that mess with your head, reality-bending horror, gothic chills, existential dread, and anything that feels like a fever dream.
– Dystopia & Sci-Fi: apocalypses, climate fiction, techno-noir, solarpunk, cyberpunk, lost colonies, AI gone rogue, time travel, and first contact with aliens.
– Fantasy & Magic: high fantasy quests, dark fantasy, urban magic, myth and legend retellings, romantasy, fairy tale twists, gaslamp or steampunk vibes, and whimsical fairycore/cottagecore.
– Romance: from lighthearted rom-coms to paranormal swoons (yes, vampires are welcome).
– Mystery & Thriller: cozy and historical whodunits, locked-room puzzles, hard-boiled noir, espionage and political thrillers, survival thrillers, and eco-disasters.
– Genre Blends: satirical sci-fi, science-horror, bizarro fiction, comedy-horror, speculative “what ifs,” and hybrids that don’t fit neatly in a box.
– Other: comics, graphic novels, webtoons, and cookbook hybrids.

Sending Review Copies

Want to mail us a physical book? Perfect! Please email us first with:

  • Your book cover (image file)
  • A synopsis (or a Goodreads link)

That way we can confirm it’s a good fit before you ship it.

How We Review

  • If we accept your request, your book will be reviewed here on the blog and cross-posted to Goodreads and Amazon.
  • On request, we can also post to Barnes & Noble or Kobo.
  • Our TBR pile is basically Mount Everest, but we’ll do our best to read and review as soon as possible.
